“Smedley’s
Place” is a series of broadcasts designed to
educate people to the true facts of U.S.
foreign/military policies around the world
since World War II. The most decorated Marine in
history, Maj. Gen. Smedley D.Butler, warned us
about these policies in his famous speech (and
writings) in the 1930s called “War is a Racket”,
included in the first episode.
The first two episodes are an overview of the
period from 1947 (with the passage of the National
Security Act) through 1990. Extensive use is made
of the documentary What I Have Learned About U.S.
Foreign Policy by Frank Dorrel. This DVD is
available at www.addictedtowar.com
and
Frank can be reached at fdorrel@addictedtowar.com
Smedley`s Place promises to teach you some facts
you didn’t learn in school and will not learn from
the mainstream corporate media. It is our hope that
these facts will anger you enough, as an American
citizen, to become active in antiwar and peace
organizations, such as the Smedley D. Butler
Brigade chapter of Veterans For Peace.
